Iskcon Pattamundai
(by Sri Pradosh prabhuji)
Iskcon Pattamundai, in Kendrapada - a coastal district of eastern Odisha - was started as a small preaching centre some time around the year 2010 by Srila Prabhupada's disciple, H.G. Jagatatma prabhu. He single-handedly ran the centre for some years, until he became ill, and so the local zonal management requested for his own health, he leave the ashram.
His Holiness Haladhar Swami Maharaja then took over the running of that small preaching centre, and has, within a short period, built it up into a wonderful Krsna consciousness base, with the most beautiful deities, dedicated devotees and native cows. From the beginning, Maharaja did not establish any deities in the temple room, but was thinking that 'if any of our Acarya's deities will come to this place by Their own desire, then we will happily continue Their worship here'. Sure enough, at the end of 2018, members of The ‘International Thakur Bhaktivinode native place, Choti Project” passed the care and worship of the most beautiful “Sri Sri Radha Madhava Jiu”, the ancestral deities of Thakur Bhaktivinode, to Maharaja for the continuation of daily worship at Iskcon Pattamundai. The next year, Sri Sri Gour Nitai, deities established by our Srila Gurudeva for one of the travelling sankirtan bus parties, also kindly came from our Iskcon Bhubaneswar Temple to accept service from the devotees at Pattamundai.
The centre is gradually expanding, with both brahmacaris and congregational devotees, where they carefully look after beautiful and healthy Indian cows, and use traditional farming methods (and cooking system), under the expert guidance and leadership of H.H. Haladhar Swami Maharaja.
